In Sarajevo in winter, covered by snow, this short film is a cinematic letter from André Gil Mata to his grandmother, two years after her death. With cinematic images of the city as a background, filmed through his bedroom window, the director shares his daily life and how difficult it is to live far from home, in a country where there are vestiges of the war in buildings and in people’s faces. In In a Snow Globe, recurring issues and obsessions in his work — such as time, absence and memory — are interlinked in a poetic and moving manner.
