The short film Never Rest/Unrest was filmed on a mobile phone during the 2019 protests in Hong Kong in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio that counters the cinematic format. The work, which takes up the vernacular language towards Julio García Espinosa's notion of "Imperfect Cinema" and vernacular cinema, rejects any kind of sensationalism, instead emphasising insignificant moments, waiting periods and mundane details. In the words of the artist, “the film is not about proof. It’s not about evidence. It’s not a plea. It’s about life and endurance and the everyday”.
