Crushed by household tasks, a job and family duties, a woman is smothered by misogyny in her own home. Alone and with no time for herself, the protagonist takes up a place of invisibility in the familial dynamic. Is This Just a Story? is a portrait of domestic abuse and depression, deconstructing the notion promoted by Indian society of a home as a place of warmth and affection. The script was written in collaboration with the feminist group Sree Shakti Sanghatana.
