Set in the 1960s at the peak of Beatlemania, Campion’s graduation film explores the fragile territory between adolescence and adulthood through the eyes of three girls. It is a space between desire and suppression, curiosity and trauma, marked by the contradictions of an era split between liberation and repression. The film was shown at Cannes Festival in 1986, in the Un Certain Regard section.
