The first film in Khemir’s Desert Trilogy, Wanderers of the Desert follows a young teacher arriving at a remote village where the borders between reality and myth are blurred. Here, the inhabitants are obsessed with a mysterious buried treasure, and their children have been cursed to wander the desert sands. As the teacher interacts with those around him, he begins an existential voyage — discovering a world full of folklore and mysticism, where time stands still and the desert becomes a metaphor as much for life as for the unknown.
