Programme:
Mount Malabar is home to the ruins of a giant radio antenna constructed by the Dutch colonial government. Today, the Indonesian government has converted these colonial ruins into a museum space. In this short film, with a narrative drawn by the soundtrack, Riar Rizaldi confronts those ambitions of remaking a territory, with the ancestral legacy of the place itself. Somewhere between reality and fiction, Tellurian Drama reimagines the ruin as a technological device and the mountain as a spiritual method of communication for use by indigenous shamans.
