On a train, a woman travels to Portugal with her son after many years abroad. It is the return to a familiar place, in a summer of possibilities, in which mother and son look for their place in the world and someone to connect to. The son seeks his father, who never answers the telephone. The mother meets a man, perhaps an old flame. Despite the familiarity of the locations, the two are still lost. This is a film about attempted new beginnings and the fears of solitude.
