Doméstica began with an invitation made by Gabriel Mascaro to seven teenagers: to film the maids who work in their homes. Most of these workers are black women, whose social class, education, race and gender appear to be factors that impose high levels of inequality on them. The result is as polyphonic as the sources, including several portraits of people who perform a role that is confused with the experience of the home, navigating the often-blurred barriers between family intimacy and employer power.
