Programme:
Jane Campion’s second film, directed while she was still at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, won the filmmaker the Palme d’Or for Best Short Film at Cannes in 1986, thus launching her career. Marked by the daring realism that would become a constant in Campion’s filmography, the short film follows a family argument that happens during a car journey, when the father tells his son to pick up the orange peel he has been throwing out of the window.
