A Short Film About Chilling… was one of the first documentaries to capture the essence of Ibiza nightlife, in the summer of 1990, before it hit the mainstream and became a Disneyland for nocturnal revellers. The film introduces the hedonistic, predominantly British subculture that flocked to the White Isle and began what would become known in the UK in 1988 as the “second summer of love” — reflecting, simultaneously, the contrast between the local inhabitants, with their rural life, and the dance music tourists. The soundtrack includes some of the greatest Balearic house music classics.
