An apparently perfect friendship hides the constant lust between three teenagers training for the national synchronised swimming championships. Under the Skin follows introverted 15-year-old Keesje, who is forced to adopt certain behaviours for fear of being rejected by the group. As the pressure of competition mounts, Keesje finds herself increasingly alienated from herself. Although she tries to repress her frustrations, an eruption seems the inevitable outcome.
