Programme:
Wildness depicts the creativity and conflict that emerge when a group of queer artists meet a community of immigrant trans women at The Silver Platter, the historical LGBT Latino bar that first opened in Los Angeles in 1963. The film merges fiction and documentary to explore the multifaceted relationship between Wu Tsang — recognised as one of today’s leading visual artists — and the venue. Tsang was part of the group of young people organising Wildness, a weekly performance and dance party, at The Silver Platter.
