Ziggy, 11, keeps a diary of the sad events happening during the worst drought in living memory. In her entries, the child retells the recurring dreams the city’s people have about water. In one of them, a girl plays the viola on top of an empty water tank. Moved by her performance, the clouds begin to shed tears. Water Diary is one of eight stories in the anthological film 8 (2008), made by eight directors responding to the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.
