The first part of a series of videos with the same name, The Reflecting Pool captures the passage from immobility to movement when a fixed camera captures a man emerging from the forest and approaching a pool of water. When he jumps, he is frozen in space while the water continues to ripple. Evoking ideas of disappearance and baptism, through a series of perceptual and temporal fragmentations, the artist deconstructs the viewer's concepts of time and memory.
