Passionless Moments marked the beginning of the collaboration between Jane Campion and writer Gerard Lee — who would go on to co-write the screenplays for Sweetie (1989) and the television series Top of the Lake (2013). Directed without permission when the two were students at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, this short film is an ironic celebration of ten absurdities in suburban daily life.
