Programme:
This film is a portrait of the life and work of Bassam Abi Chahine, a 31-year-old writer and historian who has put together the most complete inventory of objects, photographs and interviews associated with the Popular Liberation Army (PLA) and Progressive Socialist Party (PSP), socialist militias led by Walid Joumblatt during the Lebanese civil war. In his obsessive project to build this archive, Abi Chahine learnt how to identify all kinds of military equipment, with the hope that these objects might give clues to what he describes as inexplicable memories of a previous life.
