Cult filmmaker Ivan Zulueta’s short film captures a day’s worth of Spanish TV programming, sped up and filmed directly from the TV screen on the day of the victory parade, a military exhibition held in Madrid by General Franco’s government to commemorate their victory in the civil war. In just three minutes, we are whisked through a dizzying array of shampoo ads, TV movies, reports on popular festivals, and subtle Franco imagery, all unfolding in a captivating sequence. However, the production company foresaw issues with censorship and blocked the film’s release, never allowing it to see the light of day.
