Programme:
Let Each One Go Where He May, directed by Ben Russell, is an experimental film drawing on approaches from structural cinema and documentary. The film takes a minimalist approach to editing, being composed of only 13 extended shots. The contemplative narrative follows a Surinamese man on a journey from the urban environment of the city to an immense forest. Russell, who served in the Peace Corps in Suriname, uses this experience to present a reflection on movement, place and identity, exploring the intersection between culture, the environment and the passing of time.
