Programme:
Jeremy Shaw was one of six artists with an affinity to the work of Cronenberg invited by the Toronto International Film Festival and Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art to take part in the exhibition David Cronenberg: Transformation (2013). He expands on his existing work with video, music and Kirlian photography — a technique that captures electrical discharges — to explore altered mental states via psychedelics. The viewer enters alone into a cabin containing images from a brain scanner, where they receive hypnotic instructions and challenge them to surrender to a state of psychic transcendence.
Please be advised that the film contains strobe images.
