Programme:
Using a transnational, post-colonial perspective that takes in Portugal, Brazil and Guinea-Bissau — the places where the actor and filmmaker Welket Bungué develops his creative practice — Corre Quem Pode, Dança Quem Aguenta begins with the testimony of Auris, a young Afro-Brazilian performer, to propose a reflection on the body’s power regarding identity and dance as a political and civic act. Containing multiple resonances with other works by Bungué, this film challenges and explores public space and the normalisation of a culture of violence towards bodies and thought.
