Cinemamor
Jacinto Lucas Pires

Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Jacinto Lucas Pires, better known as a literary author, Cinemaamor is punctuated by a number of references to other films, most notably to Hal Hartley, Woody Allen and Nanni Moretti. With humour as a form of tragic expression of existential angst, the film revolves around the meetings and missed encounters between the members of an unexpected, improbable love “quadrangle”, which, ultimately, is exposed by João Bénard de Costa when he breaks the fourth wall: “if it were a film, no one would believe it…”.
