Programme:
Commissioned by the Toronto International Film Festival as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations, Camera is a cinematic reflection on the passing of time delivered through an ironic monologue, both profound and dark, and shot in close-up. As a group of children with a Panavision camera prepare to film in the apartment of veteran actor Leslie Carlson — who played Barry Convex in Videodrome — the latter laments the state of the industry, explaining that cinema has made him hyperconscious of his own mortality.
